ai2excel is committed to making our AI-powered Excel web application accessible to people with disabilities. We want everyone — analysts, operators, students, and teams of all sizes — to upload spreadsheets, chat with our agent, and review workbook changes regardless of how they navigate or perceive the interface.
Our commitment
We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. Accessibility is an ongoing effort: we audit new features before release, fix reported barriers promptly, and treat inclusive design as a product requirement, not an afterthought.
Measures we are taking
- Including accessibility criteria in design reviews and pull request checklists
- Testing keyboard navigation paths through the landing page, waitlist flow, and core spreadsheet interactions
- Validating semantic HTML, heading hierarchy, and ARIA usage with automated and manual audits
- Respecting
prefers-reduced-motionfor animations and decorative effects - Maintaining sufficient color contrast for text, controls, and focus indicators in light and dark themes
- Providing text alternatives and meaningful labels for icons and non-text content where applicable
Accessibility features
Keyboard navigation
Interactive elements — navigation links, buttons, form fields, FAQ accordions, and the waitlist modal — are reachable and operable via keyboard. Focus styles are visible so you can track where you are in the interface.
Screen readers
Pages use landmarks (main, nav, footer), section headings with associated labels, and descriptive aria-label attributes on icon-only controls.
Motion and visuals
Decorative animations on the landing page respect reduced-motion preferences. When reduced motion is enabled, typing effects and parallax-style movement are replaced with static content.
Responsive design
Layouts adapt to different viewport sizes and zoom levels so content remains readable and usable on phones, tablets, and desktops.
Known limitations
Spreadsheet grid accessibility is inherently complex. Canvas-based rendering of workbooks can present challenges for screen reader users compared to native HTML tables. We are investing in improved cell announcements, keyboard cell navigation, and alternative views for critical workflows. Some third-party embedded content may not yet meet our target conformance level.
Internationalization is in progress — the product is currently available in English, with additional languages planned.
Conformance status
ai2excel is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We publish updates to this statement as we close known gaps.
